This 6 month programme comprises 6 face-to-face training days, 1:1 tutorials, workplace assessment, individual research, distance learning and the completion of 3 assignments.
You will attend 6 training days; one a month, for 6 months. These are highly interactive, face-to-face sessions. They are built around key themes that address the course content, prompt reflective practice and provide an opportunity to share good practice with others. In addition to the training days there are optional workshops to support the completion of course assignments. Individual tutorial support and distance learning is built into the programme.
The course is assessed by 3 unit assignments, an ongoing reflective journal and a teaching practice portfolio. You will have to evidence 30 hours of teaching and will be observed 3 times.
This course builds on the Certificate in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS / 7303). To join the course you must have PTLLS or its equivalent, or obtain one concurrently.
Please refer to the course programme for an overview of the course content and the way the course is structured. The Initial Teacher Training overview diagram shows how CTLLS relates to PTLLS and DTLLS.
CTLLS is the qualification required for teachers/tutors and assessors who work in the lifelong learning sector in an ‘associate teaching’ role.
