Internal Verifier / Internal Quality Assurance  Courses

These City and Guilds level 4  qualifications are suitable for anyone who internally quality assures (verifies) the assessment of learning.  The TAQA verifier (IQA) qualifications units are listed below.

These qualifications replace the V1  and D34 internal verifier award and are part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).

Each qualification will start with a one day training workshop followed by one-to-one work with your assessor including an observation, discussion and gathering workplace evidence at a time to be arranged at your location.  There are no exams or written assignments to complete.

 

Verifier course dates for the one day training workshop (for full qualifications and updates) are:

Wednesday 13 September

or

Wednesday 29 November

held at Friends Meeting House, Chesterfield

All days start at 9:30am and finish at 4:30pm

Update Training

If you already have an internal  verifier qualification ( V1,  D34) you can update this by attending the one day workshop.  You will receive a certificate of attendance and a workbook to support a review of best practice in your workplace.    Cost:  £60

TAQA Internal Quality Assurance (internal verifier) Courses:

  • Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice – Cost: £400
  • Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice – Cost: £700
  • Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice – Cost: £800

 

The Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices replaces the V1 internal verifier award.

 

Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (1 unit, 6 credits)

A knowledge-only Award for those who need to know about internal quality assurance but who are not carrying out quality assurance themselves. These may be experienced assessors or centre managers for example. This award can be achieved by participating in the one day workshop and is assessed by professional discussion with your course tutor.  This award has one unit:

Unit 4 Understanding the Principles and Practices of Internally Assuring the Quality of Assessment (6 credits)

Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (2 units, 12 credits)

For those who conduct internal quality assurance of the assessment process from within a centre or organisation by sample planning, monitoring and advising on the practice of at least 2 assessors. This award can be achieved by attending the one day workshop and is assessed by professional discussion, workplace observation and a portfolio of work product evidence.  This award has 2 units:

Unit 4 Understanding the Principles and Practices of Internally Assuring the Quality of Assessment (6 credits)

Unit 5 Internally Assure the Quality of Assessment (6 credits)

 

Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (3 units, 17 credits)

For those who lead the internal quality assurance process and have a responsibility for managing the quality of the assessment process and practice and the performance of and least 2 assessors. They will also lead at least 2 other internal quality assurers and ensure consistency in the IQA team.  This award can be achieved by attending the one day workshop and is assessed by professional discussion, workplace observation and a portfolio of work product evidence.  This Certificate has 3 units:

Unit 4 Understanding the Principles and Practices of Internally Assuring the Quality of Assessment (6 credits)

Unit 5 Internally Assure the Quality of Assessment (6 credits)

Unit 8 Plan, Allocate & Monitor Work in Own Area of Responsibility (5 credits)
